MEET Kate
Kate is an award winning dietitian and a nationally known speaker when it comes to making good nutrition within reach for busy people. A busy mother with 2 young children herself, she understands firsthand the challenges that come with trying to balance motherhood, work, family life and healthy eating habits.
Since launching her company in 1999 Kate has helped dozens of companies to develop nutrition-related programming for their employees, such as GE Aircraft, Sun Microsystems, Reebok International, Yankee Candle, Boston Scientific Corporation and Citistreet. She has motivated and entertained audiences at national sales meetings for clients such as TAP Pharmaceuticals, and has also provided nutrition services for clients of healthcare and wellness companies such as Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.
Kate also works consistently with the media as a trusted nutrition and media communications expert. She has served as a spokesperson for numerous companies including Bausch & Lomb®, Promise®, Boca Burgers®, Green Giant Vegetables®, Multibionta®, Ajinomoto, the USA Rice Federation, Natural Harmony Foods and the Tea Council of the U.S.A. She has given over 65 media interviews in print, TV and radio, including The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Family Circle, Prevention, Woman’s Day and Salt Lake Magazine, and NBC, ABC, CBS, Comcast and FOX news affiliates across the country.
Kate's passion for the Mediterranean diet has been a hallmark of her career. Prior to becoming a dietitian Kate lived in Florence, Italy working at the Mangia Culinary School, and has since taught several course on the Mediterranean Diet in Italy for Simmons College. In April 2006 she partnered with Field to Plate® to co-host an Exchange Forum on Childhood Obesity and School Lunch in Challans, France, with an additional Exchange Forum slated for Rome in 2008.
Kate graduated Magna cum laude from Middlebury College. She received her Master's degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons College, where she was awarded the Outstanding Student Award. Kate completed her dietetic internship with Idaho State University. While living in Boston, in 2004 Kate was named Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in Massachusetts by the American Dietetic Association.
Kate is a member of the American Dietetic Association (including the Dietitians in Business and Communications, as well as Nutrition Entrepreneurs Practice Groups) and has held several leadership positions in local, state, and national dietetics. She enjoys lots of skiing, hiking, and mountain biking with her husband and two children while living in Park City, Utah.
